Who we are

We are Flavour; game-changers. We use gamification and storytelling to solve problems. For this, we use our own methodology: ‘Hero Centred Design’. By approaching our users as potential heroes – if they can, want and are able to, we can change their behaviour and create a positive impact on the society.

At Flavour we work with partners who want to make a change and better a certain situation. With them we develop playful and effective software products to change the world: HackShield, Quinn and Hero Centre. From making kids resilient online to training emergency services centralists – we make it! 

We are a relatively small company with a flat organisational structure. Everyone is able to influence our products and organization.

We are looking for

We are looking for a motivated, structured and enthusiastic Laravel back end programmer that can support us anywhere from 32 to 40 hours a week. We make games apps and gamified platforms that teach, change and and activate people. 

Do you think in structures, do you see the big picture and do you fantasise about how to build streamlined, user friendly and elegant applications using Laravel? Do you feel the urge to make the world a better place with your expertise? Then we need to talk.

Function description 

You will be designing and building back ends and back end functionality. This means coding parts of our back end, designing database structures, optimising and helping implementation on the front end side. You will be working in Agile scrum teams and will cooperatively estimate workload and plan the way forward on multiple epics and user stories together with a team of experts. 

We work in Laravel and are looking for someone obsessed by it. We expect you to participate actively in the scrum process and be passionate about your part in the team.

Do you write well structured back end code and do you like diverse challenges, like building a custom CMS or an API? Are you supportive and can you communicate well with Front end developers, UX designers and build ready to ship products and components?

You skillset consists of:

• high level of Laravel experience
• Strong in PHP “in general”
• MySQL and thinking in structures
• Writing robust self explanatory and well documented code
• Have experience in automation and automated testing
• Team player

It’s nice of you’re an expert, but we also appreciate a broad set of skills related to this profession like:

• Experience with HTML, CSS and javascript
• Knowledge of Unity and C#
• Know how to operate a linux command line interface
• Overall interest in games and technology
• Feeling for finetuning games and game like interfaces.
• Affinity with making the world. A better place

Level of experience minimum: 3+ years

Salary €3.000,00 – €4.500,00 before tax at 40 hours a week, depending on your level
25 days off per year at 40 hours a week
Travel expenses covered 100%
